Ask any Lake Ashton resident what Florida retirement is like, and they’ll probably say that they’re so busy they don’t know how they ever found time to work. Here’s a sample of some of the things they’re likely to be doing this fall:
• Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. This is the 18th year for this event, which runs from Sept. 27 through Nov. 11, 2013. Enjoy shopping, entertainment, dining, dancing and, of course, an amazing selection of wine and beer as only Epcot can present. Even if you’ve been before, it’s worth another visit because there are plenty of new offerings this year.
• Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. Especially if you like horror movies, or if the grandkids are visiting and you want to show them a frighteningly good time, you’ll want to put this on your calendar. This annual event runs on select nights from Sept. 20 through Nov. 2. It’s a specially ticketed event and often sells out, so it’s a good idea to get your tickets early.
• Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards Annual Holiday Open House. Kick off the holiday season with hot mulled wine, crafts and live music on the outdoor stage Nov. 8-10. Free admission and complimentary winery tours and tastings; beverages and food are available for purchase.
• Festival of the Masters. This annual event is held at Downtown Disney Nov. 8-10, 2013 and features the works of some of today’s top artists. Photography, glass, paintings, sculptures, jewelry, leather and wood, mixed media, digital art and more will be on display, and many of the pieces are available for purchase to decorate your Florida retirement home. Of course, the Downtown Disney restaurants will be open, but the event itself is free.
